“TEACHING OUTSIDE THE BOX”
1) We provide a genuinely cozy learning environment.Students are required to take off their shoes before entering the classroom.Students can choose to work at their desks, on one of the various couches, or in our outdoor seating area. We have a strict no-bullying policy in place. We kindly request that students and parents bring the same positive attitude we foster here. You are more than welcome to be part of our community.
2) Black boys and girls perform better academically when they have a black male educator. With this knowledge, mentorship provides students with a trusted adult who can offer guidance, support, and encouragement, leading to much improved academic performance

Approximately 95% of our students engage in our homeschool program for a period of 2 to 4 years, with only a limited number finishing the complete curriculum and graduating.

Students often find themselves in the challenging position of trying to please two separate peer groups. Friends vs Parents/Teachers…….Let’s acknowledge this “Real” phenomenon.

LHGS is a small homeschool. we seek individuals who are prepared for a different approach to education and a mor laid-back learning atmosphere. our focus is on providing a meaningful education with an authentic historical perspective.

The Lithonia Homeschool Group Scholars was founded in 2003 to offer educational resources for Metro Atlanta families. After working as a substitute teacher in Atlanta Public Schools, I noticed a troubling lack of discipline and enthusiasm among students, with many showing disrespect and disruptions, often going unaddressed. Rather than just voicing my concerns, I decided to take action by establishing my own educational institution. With a degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University and experience in teaching, I was inspired to pursue my dream of opening a school. My background in coaching youth sports helped ease my transition into education, allowing me to fulfill my passion for providing families an alternative to traditional public schooling.
